I think I have some great news, financially, even though I still have no job and few prospects. Driving ten hours by myself out of the last 44 gave me the time to remember some important things. Of course, it didn’t help my fantasy football performance. That part of my life is still in shambles.
Chinua Achebe must have been thinking about what the fall of 2010 would look like for me when he decided on his most famous book title.
Indeed they do.

Except that I won’t be able to sub, so I won’t make any money.
I know, I’ll look for other jobs in the area.

– Ben Golliver from Blazer’s Edge. I’m really sad about the likelihood that Pritchard will be out, and I think it’s crazy that there is so much up in the air with the team right now. But at least it gave someone the chance to use a great comparison to The Wire.

Reading about McCain in “Up, Simba” reminds me of his concession speach in 2008 and how un-McCain-like his entire campaign had been up until that point. I remember getting slightly emotional during his speech and thinking that I would have seriously considered voting for him had the whole campaign sounded like that speech.
